Children’s Day

Our kids have invented a tradition. Once a year we have something called Children’s Day. That means the kids can sleep for as long as they want, eat what they want and generally do what they wish all day long.

At least in theory. Usually it lasts until about 11pm, after which I declare that the day is over and everybody is ushered off to bed, more or less willingly. Still, it has become an important tradition for them and come April, we’re reminded to start preparing.

Today’s the day, so now I’ve got one kid watching Disney XD, another one blogging to her heart’s content and the third one firmly connected to Playstation 3. And I’ve got to stop writing now, since I have to go prepare an unhealthy lunch. The adult in me is grateful this day only comes once a year :-).
